Tommy d’Esterhazy was ecstatic to be able to fire-up the brick-ovens and start making pizza, soup, and desserts, just as he did in New York. With help from his family, he turned the location on Southside Blvd. into a typical fun –filled, neighborhood Brick-Oven Pizzeria that you’d find in the Bronx or Brooklyn -- casual and lively, with mouth-watering food, and warm hospitality.

Tommy’s family landed in New York City in 1868, and is still there today. Family traditions regarding food are sacred. “Use only the best ingredients”, and “Only serve what you’d eat at home” are strict family rules.

His family’s passion for great food and wine, and his experiences growing up in and around New York City, made it easy for Tom to follow his nose into the restaurant business. His work in restaurants, while attending school in Europe for five years, only increased his passion for food. Returning home, he continued developing his skills by pursuing a degree in culinary arts.

The secrets to great pizza are: only use the finest ingredients, make an exceptional crust, and create a delicious sauce. Tommy’s dough is a traditional NY City recipe learned from a master pizzaiola and perfected. He makes the ultimate thin, crisp, crust that New Yorkers expect in a pizza-- even with his largest 18” and 20” pies. Tommy’s slices are the largest in Jacksonville; huge and crispy -- even at the tip! Kids of all ages love the show when Tommy slings the pie four feet in the air to stretch it out!

The menu is classic New York with a clean, fresh twist: Traditional Pizzas with the most delicately flavored mozzarella cheese and freshly made tomato sauce; Gourmet topped pizzas that’ll wow your eyes and mouth; huge Calzones stuffed with fresh ricotta, mozzarella, and specialty toppings; the Stromboli is a meal in itself, and Tommy’s hand-made Lasagna, Manicotti, Ravioli, Eggplant are light and savory. Need meat? Try the Steak Pizzailoa, an 8 oz, Brick-Oven Grilled Rib-Eye served in a Tuscan style with savory fresh roasted veggies and potatoes, or Tommy’s sweet Italian Sausage and Peppers with stewed tomatoes and cheese tortellini –a healthy indulgent meal.

The Salads could exhaust a rabbit and excite a carnivore. Tommy’s soups, cooked fresh daily, make you want to take some home (and not-share). Made to order Hero’s and Subs are carefully built on Tommy's toasty-baked Italian bread, and scratch-desserts like “Holy Cannoli”, “Tommy's Mamma's Cheesecake” and Chocolate Chip Cookies are scrumptious snacks, or light ending to a great meal.

Carefully selected Italian wines, a variety of Import and Domestic beers, fountain and bottle soft drinks, as well as espresso, and cappuccino are available and very reasonably priced.

“We’ve been blessed. Everyone that’s tried our food has returned, usually bringing someone with them. The support we’ve received from customers is humbling. They make this fun, not work” said Tommy.
